On Phang Nga Island, 104 companies with foreign participation were found to own 124 land plots. A large-scale inspection of businesses, lands, and facilities potentially linked to foreigners through Thai nominees began on the island of Phang Nga.

On August 14, two deputy ministers of Thailand's Interior Ministry visited the island. The inspection was triggered by the situation with foreign ownership of land and business.

According to officials, 104 companies with foreign participation own 124 land plots. Now, hotels, shops, service enterprises, and other facilities that may be effectively controlled by foreigners through nominees will come under special scrutiny.

Officials gave 30 days for the investigation. The authorities outlined three main principles: Thai land should remain in Thai hands, local residents' rights must not be violated, and foreigners should not displace Thais from jobs.

They will separately inspect the hotel sector to determine how many hotels operate on the island and whether they have the necessary permits. As an example, the model of Phuket is being considered.

The immigration police were also instructed to check hotels that do not provide data about their guests to authorities. Other issues raised during the inspection include drugs at the Full Moon Party, possible illegal religious facilities, air quality, and land plots that may overlap with areas under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Special attention was paid to Israeli citizens. According to the district head, special commissions for labor issues and construction have already been established.

Cases against nominal owners and business inspections continue. The authorities also reported the arrest of representatives from an illegal private school Argi Kids, where many Israeli children were being educated.

Since October 1, 2025, more than 107 cases involving citizens of Israel had been initiated on Phang Nga Island. Another inspection point is weapons.

Officials demanded to clarify how many P.3 and P.4 permits have been issued on the island and how many times a P.3 permit was granted without a subsequent P.4.
