Stricter penalties for fatal drunk driving accidents in Thailand

According to current Thai legislation, causing death as a result of a road traffic accident committed by a driver under the influence of alcohol entails serious legal consequences. Such a crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to ten years. In addition to deprivation of liberty, those found guilty are also subject to fines ranging from 60,000 to 200,000 baht. These measures are aimed at improving road safety and preventing drunk driving, which is one of the main causes of fatal accidents in the country.
