In Phuket, two foreign nationals were arrested for drug trafficking. Among those detained were a Frenchwoman and a Norwegian woman who were trading hashish and other prohibited substances.
According to the Bangkok Post, Thai police conducted a raid in one of Phuket’s districts where citizens from France and Norway were discovered and detained. Both women were trading hashish, cannabis resin, and other narcotic substances.
Local media reports say the Frenchwoman was arrested after packets of cocaine were found in her luggage at Phuket airport. The Norwegian woman is also suspected of illegal drug sales and was arrested by local law enforcement.
Police are continuing the investigation, and the detainees remain in custody until all circumstances are clarified. Investigators plan to conduct interrogations and gather additional evidence for trial in the near future.
Regular raids to uncover illegal drug trade are routinely carried out in Phuket, indicating the authorities’ ongoing attention to this issue.
