The authorities in Thailand will investigate a businessman's complaint about threats from an foreigner on Samui. Deputy Minister of Interior Worasit Liangprasert announced that on August 8, he would visit the island of Samui to check information about possible threats against a Thai businessman by an Israeli citizen.

According to him, the police have already begun an investigation and will work with local residents and businesses to identify any potential threats. Sources stated that the businessman reported receiving threats from a foreigner.

Worasit Liangprasert noted that the police would closely monitor the situation and ensure the safety of locals and businesses on Samui Island. During his visit, the deputy minister plans to meet with representatives of the local business community to discuss possible measures to prevent threats.

He also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the police and local residents for ensuring stability and security on the island. In connection with this, the Thai police are stepping up control over the activities of foreigners on Samui.

Specifically, last month, the police conducted raids at 25 locations on Koh Phangan and arrested 35 people. These actions were aimed at combating illegal activities, including drug trafficking.

Additionally, the Thai police continue efforts to uncover crimes related to business real estate and labor rights. In a recent statement by a police representative, they stated that they are actively working on investigating cases of labor rights violations among foreigners.

The next steps include conducting additional raids and inspections on Samui. Worasit Liangprasert also called on the local community to cooperate with the police to ensure safety and stability on the island.
