A South Korean fugitive criminal was arrested on Phuket after eight years of border crossing.

A South Korean fugitive criminal was apprehended on Phuket after eight years of illegal stay. The police carried out an operation to identify and arrest the fugitive who had been evading justice since 2015.

Information about the arrest was provided by local law enforcement authorities. According to the police, the man was arrested in one of Phuket's districts after a prolonged investigation and surveillance.

As a result of the operation, he was taken to a police station for further inquiry. The police conducted a search at the suspect, who could not produce the required documents for staying in Thailand.

Police officer Songkham Sukphum explained: "We continue to strengthen measures to identify and arrest fugitives to ensure the safety of our citizens. At present, an investigation is being conducted, and the man is detained pending court decision." Prior to this incident, the South Korean fugitive had been hiding on Phuket and repeatedly tried to evade justice.

The police urge citizens to report suspicious individuals to assist in combating crime. At this point, further actions in the case have not yet been determined, and the court will decide on the issue of bail for the detained person.
