An American tourist was arrested for attacking a water scooter rental staff member in Phuket's Patong.

Police in Patong (Phuket) arrested a 25-year-old American citizen at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok) after he allegedly attacked an employee of a water scooter rental point on Patong Beach and attempted to leave Thailand. The incident occurred on July 8, 2026. The suspect, identified as Williamson, was detained just before boarding an international flight and later transported back to the station for further investigation.
