Italian woodcarver detained for illegal work on Koh Phangan

Police in Surat Thani province on Koh Phangan island arrested an Italian citizen for illegal work in the field of decorative arts. The detainee, whose name has not been disclosed, was engaged in wood carving without the appropriate work documents. According to Thai law, foreigners must have a valid work permit and residency status to work legally in the country. In the absence of the necessary documents, police have the right to arrest and deport such individuals.
